President-elect Donald Trump is calling for Israel to push for quick, decisive victories in its ongoing regional conflicts, according to GOP spokesperson Elizabeth Pipko. In an interview with Israel’s Channel 12 following Trump’s election win, Pipko provided insight into Trump’s vision, emphasizing his commitment to “stop wars” instead of igniting new ones. When questioned on whether this vision includes Israel’s confrontations with Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza, Pipko stated that Trump envisions Israel achieving a “100 percent victory.”
Pipko indicated that Trump’s approach involves strong, definitive action, contrasting it with what she described as the more reserved approach of the current U.S. administration. Referring to the recent October 7 attack by Hamas, Pipko claimed such an event might have been prevented under Trump’s administration, suggesting a more robust U.S. response to aggression in the region under Trump’s leadership.
According to Pipko, Trump aims for peace through overwhelming success that would ensure enduring stability, a position he extends to international conflicts, including those in Gaza and Ukraine. She noted Trump’s dedication to reducing civilian casualties, remarking that he wants the conflicts to end quickly and decisively.
Additionally, Pipko criticized the Biden administration’s “back and forth” foreign policy, suggesting it has prolonged conflicts in the Middle East. She highlighted issues like American hostages held by Hamas and accused the current U.S. leaders of prioritizing political interests over security concerns.
While Pipko refrained from commenting on Trump’s specific stance regarding Israel’s approach to Iran’s nuclear facilities, she indicated he would clarify his position upon taking office in January. Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly spoke Wednesday, affirming their shared commitment to Israel’s security and addressing the ongoing threat posed by Iran.
