Starting December 15, commuters across South London will benefit from more trains during rush hour, as Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) introduces a new timetable. The updated schedule includes more services on some of the busiest routes, with added trains and extended carriages to improve capacity.
Key changes include additional weekday services between East Croydon and London Victoria, with some trains extended from eight to 10 carriages. A new train will depart East Croydon at 8:40am, stopping at all stations to Norbury, while the 7:50am Selhurst to London Victoria service will now start at East Croydon.
Other changes include a new service from Sutton to London Bridge via Hackbridge, departing at 8:07am, and direct services from Norwood Junction to London Bridge, with trains running every 27 minutes from 7:37am.
In the evening, two new services will run from London Bridge to Sutton via West Croydon. The changes aim to provide commuters with more options and better accommodate rush-hour demand, part of a broader programme to improve services across GTR’s network.
